About

Written by a contractor who is still in the trade.

Jason Vogen has spent 25 years in roofing, siding, windows, gutters and storm restoration. He has sat at more kitchen tables than he can count, on the contractor's side, and watched the same thing happen over and over: the homeowners who did best were not the ones who got the cheapest bid. They were the ones who understood the process before it started.

Almost nobody was teaching it. The information existed, scattered across contractor forums, insurance fine print and the memory of people who had been burned. Informify360 puts it in one place, in plain language, in the order you will need it, and gives it away.

How this works

The homeowner side of this site is free: the eight guides, the bid comparison, the storm pages, the directory. Two things have a price, and both are optional: the $179 Bid Walkthrough (coming soon), where Jason records himself reading your bids, and the Big Project Review for HOA boards and large properties. Contractors who want to hand homeowners the same pages with their own name on them, and be listed in the directory, pay a start fee and a plan billed yearly, and sign the published standards. Homeowners never pay to be protected.

What Informify360 is not

It does not take commissions or referral fees. It does not recommend contractors. It does not interpret your insurance policy or adjust your claim. It will tell you what a good contractor looks like, hand you a scorecard to find one, and show you which contractors signed the standard.

The disclosure

Jason owns a licensed exterior contracting company in Minnesota, and has for years. That is where the advice comes from, and it is also why we say so plainly: Informify360 is owned by Jason Vogen, who also owns Xteriors360, a licensed contractor. Informify360 Preferred Contractors are selected for their commitment to written standards for quality, process and communication. Membership carries a fee and never buys a ranking or a recommendation. If you are in his company's service area and you work with Jason directly, he will say so and step back from anything that could look like a sales call.

Where we are

Lakeville, Minnesota, in the south metro of the Twin Cities. The guides are written for homeowners anywhere in the United States. Where a Minnesota example appears, read it as "here is what it looks like where we are; find your state's version."
